Water Bottle Loop
In the State of Florida, can an employer legallly do this?

I work as a bagger in a busy supermarket, and since it's very hot, I go to the water fountain frequently. My boss told me in the past to stay away from the water fountain altogether. I have a new boss now, who tells me to stay away from it as much as possible. When I asked if I could carry a bottle carrier strapped to my belt loop, I was told no, but that I could carry a small half-pint bottle in my pocket. She said that if I needed to go to the water fountain more frequently, I would need a doctor's note, explaining that I have a medical condition that requires me to rehydrate frequently. I can't go to the doctor's office, because they cut back my hours so much, that I lost my benefits. Is it legal for them to require a doctor's note?
I'll be up front with you, and tell you that I go to the water fountain about two or three times an hour.

well you haven't really told us how often you go to the water fountain .. like is it once every two hours .. or once every half hour .. because in all honesty... where I work i know of several people who spend an awful lot of time at the water fountain DESPITE us being permitted to have water bottles with us when we work...

are you only taking sips of water at a time .. perhaps you need to actually drink MORE when you have a drink....

that does sound excessive....drinking a full glass, maybe even a glass and a half at a time should cut you down to once an hour.... and if you are genuinely that thirsty.. i really think you need a health check.. you could have diabetics or other health issues that could get worse if noy diagnosed.

you have to consider your employer.. say it takes you 5 minutes to go to the water, have a drink and return to your work station ..well that's possibly 15 minutes each hour... if you work for eight hours... that could be two hours spent going to and from and having a drink .. they are paying you each time you do that ... and your co-workers have to carry you for when you're not there to do your own.

is there anyway you could place a larger water bottle beneath a cash register that you can get to in less time
