Klean Kanteen... Metallic Taste?
Recently I have "Gone Green" and decided to join the band wagon and drop $20 on a 27oz Klean Kanteen Stainless Steel Water Bottle. Orange in color. After a week I've noticed the water after about an hour tastes metallic. Is this normal, or should I do something about it?
Cheap grades of stainless steel are also porous to some degree, which is where your metallic flavor is coming from. High grades of stainless steel are more dense as metals go, and will not impart that type of after taste.
