I had to write a confessional poem for school, what do you think?
The Departing Train
Holding the tickets tight in my hand,
Got my baggage all packed up in one bag,
With no place to go back to if I miss the train,
As I turn the corner to get to my gate,
I’m rudely interrupted by a man named Fear,
As I try to get around him to get to my gate,
I hear the train approaching and about to make a stop,
As I get around Fear, I see the train in my sight,
The train has a big “Success” label on it,
Now I’m running as fast as I can to catch it,
When a woman named Doubt stops me and asks me for directions,
I push her aside and continue my all out sprint,
As I’m about to jump on the train before the doors close,
Difficulty, Lazy, and Distractions are all coming out of the same door,
As they block my entrance to the train,
The doors close and I’m left behind,
Holding on to my ticket and my bag.
