How do I install Trailer Brake Control on my truck?
I have a 1983 chevy scottsdale and I am going to be pulling a trailer that has brakes so I need to install the adaptor to my truck. I currently have the light hook up, just the four pronged adapter. So if anyone can explain to me how to hook up the trailer brake control that would be great.
While you're working on the trailer brake, you might as well evaluate the overall safety of your vehicle. Some tips:
1. Invest in a vehicle backup camera. A backup camera system allows you to see what's going on behind your vehicle as you woud in a regular car. They're affordable when you shop online — I bought an RV backup camera system at http://www.rearviewsafety.com and have felt much more comfortable since.
2. Try out some studded tires. If you spend any time driving in the snow or rain, studded tires are a must. Regulations of these vary per state, so do your research.
3. Perform regular vehicle maintenance, like checking the oil, replacing worn out parts, etc.
