hod do i fix the crossover tubing from a gas heater (burner) build in that delays the second burner ?
i called the gas company to light my pilot for the heater and the guy came try to do it , he said it has a delay on the second burner and then shut it off...at one point he start the second burner itself to clean but after 5 minutes he said it still has the delay and turn off the pilot
he gave me a paper that says " crosover tubing has a delay in igniting the second burner..not safe to use"
Typically when you get delayed ignition like that it is caused by either dirty or plugged burners or orifices, or an incorrect fuel supply pressure.
Regardless of what is causing this, and especially if it has been red tagged by the fuel supplier, you cannot and should not be trying to fix this yourself. You need to get a qualified technician, hopefully one who is familiar with your particular model of heater, to look at it and correct the problem.
Sorry, but this isn't a "do it yourself" problem. Let a professional handle it.
