I need a Tonneau cover. What kind do you suggest?
I have a 2008 Toyota Tundra and I'm looking for a tonneau cover for it. The issues it must answer are, it must be lockable either by itself or through the locking tailgate, it must be cut proof so someone can't just cut it open and it must be retractable or foldable so I can carry oversize/tall cargo. This is my work truck and I'm tired of people trying to steal stuff out of the bed. I had a Leer camper shell on my Z71 but it kept me from carry large appliances or 4wheelers and other tall items. Please respond with possible solutions including namebrands. Pro's and con's of each suggestion would be helpful too. All suggestions are greatly appreciated.
I don't have a ton of information and I apologize for that, but to point you in the right direction, look at Access tonneau covers. I just put 11 of Access' covers on my work trucks (2005 Tacomas) and they are incredible. Another direction to look into is Undercover tonneau covers. I highly recommend both of these as I have used both and I was/am able to securely store my chainsaws safely...but also haul huge quantities of wood with the tonneau rolled up she I needed it to be. I hope this helps.
P.S. Don't be afraid to spend a little more, if it's security and durability that you're interested in. When it comes to tonneaus...you really do get what you pay for. Best of luck to ya!
