RV Television Reception?
I just purchased an RV that has a WineGard antenna. I have a year old flat screen TV that I tried to use in the camper. I get nothing. I know the issue is the analog to digital conversion but I am unsure how to solve the problem? The TV is hooked up to the cable jack in the RV but there is no cable service to the trailer. I assumed that the TV would use the antenna if I did not have cable service. What is my solution to get over the air reception? Jerry
You are correct that you need an antenna. Connect the antenna to the "antenna in" on the TV, make sure the TV is set to "antenna" tuning, not "cable" tuning and then scan for channels. If you are not getting a strong enough signal into the set, it will act as if nothing is there. That would be the difficult thing about a RV, knowing if the TV antenna you have is sufficient (and pointed in the correct direction) for the location you are at the moment. It can work, but it may take a bit of experimenting.
