What is the best way to keep the house front entrance clear of webs and the homes of other insects?
We are commited to keeping a light on at night for security. I've tried pressure water, but that seems about 50% effect, messy, and time-consuming. I've tried manual remove with hard tools, but that takes a lot of time and concentration (and a latter). I've thought of a broom, but I worry that the harder insect homes will not be affected and the sticky webs will just smear on the house siding and leave me with a messy broom too; a broom with harder bristles might break harder nests off of the siding. I've thought of a UV light bug zapper, which would kill the insects and leave the web spiders out of work, but theft might be an issue (we are in a good neighborhood, but who knows, right?) and it wouldn't affected insects like hornets (would it?) or whatever else might be trying to build their homes on our home. It would also consume power, but I don't really know how much so it might not be significant enough to matter.
What do you suggest for do-it-yourself siding maintenance?
If you keep that light on you're going to have bugs. If you have bugs, you'll have spiders.
I have the same situation.
Spray the area with insecticide every couple of weeks.
