Centrifugal fan... can i lift off the ground?
I had a crazy idea the other day and wasn't so sure about it. Imagine a sports bike. Replace both wheels with fixed centrifugal fans that of course, look like the wheels, with the air moving down. I'm not sure if the engine could power both fans (one for each wheel). Could it?
If the thrust generated by your centrifugal fans exceed the weight of the bike and the rider and any other force acting downwards, then by the laws of physics, it is possible. The trouble is finding the power that can deliver such thrust. It will be a long wait before such technologies can be made available.
However it is quite practical if you use the ground effect and a conventional fan(s). Check the linkk for the Airboard.
