Computer fan mount.?
I have 3 fans in my computer, and I want to put an intake fan on the side. My computer came with 3 fans, it is possible to hook up another fan, where do I plug it into. Is there another hookup or is three the most I can hook up. The computer is an HP pavilion 523n, if that helps you.
There is no fan on the front or sides. Two are in the rear, one on the inside. There is no intake fan.
Yes you can put a 4th fan on the computer (if there is room obviously). Just connect the new fan to one of the power connectors or use an adapter if it does not fit any of the power connectors (usually fans should come with adapters).

You can hook up another fan but I wouldn't recommend it - you can have too many fans. You can add extras fans by connecting it to one of hard disk power leads. You can get adaptors for that purpose.
However, three fans should be enough. One on the CPU, one at the front bottom of the case drawing are in, and one at the top rear drawing air out. I fan on the side of the case is likely to disrupt the air flow from bottom front to top rear and could actually make matters worse. If you absolutely must have another fan put it on the rear of the case near the top where it will do some good. Fans on the side of the case achieve very little.
