High School Drop Out now in college, can I make it in Accounting?
I've taken Intro Accounting and passed them both with an A. I took my first out of three intermediate accounting classes and passed with a B. I'm about a 3.4 GPA student. I'm now attending a Cal State, after dropping out of high school 7 years ago. I've never had confidence in myself and I'm terrified of not making it. Please, if there's anyone out there that can relate and made it, please tell me your story.
Dropping out of school doesn't measure your intelligence or ability to learn. People drop out for all reasons. As long as you are committed to graduating and work hard, I have no doubt that you can succeed. If fear is the largest factor then remember "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself."
Just keep telling yourself that you can do it. And don't expect to do it alone. If you're struggling take advantage of the professors office hours. Many schools offer free tutoring services from graduate students or work-study students. Take advantage of anything your school offers you and don't wait until the last minute to ask for help.
