how do i install a trailer hitch to a 1997 grand marquis?
its a 2 inch ball
If it's a class II, all 4 bolt holes must be drilled out. Have another person hold the hitch in place & mark as the directions tell you.. Remove the hitch & drill the holes. Using a wire buddy, feed the bolts through the frame. Raise the hitch into position and bolt to frame.
If it's a Class III Feed the bolts through the frame with a wire buddy. Exiting the larger holes approx 20" from the end of the frame. Raise the hitch into position and bolt the forward mounting holes of the hitch to the frame. Pull the hitch back as far as possible and tighten. Drill out the rearward holes and bolt on.
The electrical is located inside the trunk, left side under the fender.
