Cleaning painted walls (plasterboard)?
My house interior walls have stubborn stains on them e.g. greasy hand marks, rubber and chalk from pool cues, oil splashes from cooking, courtesy of my previous housemates.
I have tried traditional multipurpose cleaner and also Nifti which only work to some extent. I do not wish to repaint the walls, simply to clean the marks off them.
They are plaster board that has been painted matt light grey by the way. I don't want to scrape the paint away.
Thanks for the answers so far. I did see Sugar soap in my local Coles and wondered about it. I think I'll give that a try and see how good it is.
Ok, I tried Sugar Soap which worked pretty well but not perfectly.. needed a couple of applications and some hard work. The main thing is it has worked well enough for the house inspection happening soon! I will try the magic eraser stuff next time.
Sugar Soap in warm water is the thing to use - it's also what you wash the walls down with prior to re-painting.
