HDD not detected?
I just installed Windows XP Pro, i have 1 maxtor 20gb(Master) and 1 samsung 160gb(Slave).
The problem is the slave isn't detected in cmos neither in windows.
What i did after windows installed:Formated Slave and partitioned it at full space (160gb partition)
At first it detected and i moved my backup'd files to the slave disk, after reboot it never shows up now
I cant format it cause i dont have floppy disk and i cant see it in computer.
If i disconnect the ide cable and let the slave plugged, it is detected, but it isnt detected with master and slave ide plugged.
Jumpers are correct, power cable too, ide cable too.
Tried to auto detect it via cmos but never detects.
Already tried other jumper combinations, dont work too.
IDE cable order is correct.
Please help me, cause my files are in that disk and i cant get them unless i format it and install windows on that disk!
is it that u r using an old PC...if everything is correct, then it seems to me that may be ur motherboard does not support 160GB...check ur motherboard manual...prepare ur HDD as per the highest capacity supported by ur motherboard.
