How high can a tow ball riser go?
I have a 1 1/2 ton trailer with a really tall axle (it was a military trailer I think) - its about 3 1/2 or 4 feet off the ground. I have a c10 with a step bumper. I bought a 10" riser to help raise the ball so it sits about 2 feet off the ground.
Unloaded, it was a squirrely ride. Once I loaded the trailer and set the hitch on the ball, it about yanked my bumper off! It looks like it actually bent my class C step bumper!
I'm thinking if I could keep the trailer close to level, instead of a 30 degree angle, this trailer could work. I guess the question is can I use a 2" channel over my riser (like a receiver/connector) to bring my ball up to hitch level?

Keeping the trailer as level as possible is really important for towing. you'll need to have a frame Weight Distributing receiver installed first. Then look at the B&W Stow & Tow ball hitch. The B&W is able to adjust height position to the needs.
