Electrical problem with 1993 Grand caravan...please help?
Problem is signals don't work, and testing the bulb wires at end of each lead was a fail. ( no power ) Hazards work fine though. Also same problem with rear backup lights, I block the wheel start it and put it in reverse and no backuplights. Bulbs are good, not black, grey or blown. Both sides of rear lights I tested and there both dead, no power when in reverse. So I replaced the Rear Light Switch on the Transmission and it's still the same, NOTHING...what should I do, any suggestions please, I just bought the van for $800.00 and also autozone, and napa both called for a turn signal fuse that doesn't even fit the panel properly without bending the top prong so it's flat vertical. what's up with that, I've made three trips aready to get another one, and the same thing...? Now I just ordered a whole new turn signal switch itself...it's the only thing left I can think of for fixing the signal's...? please help...I'm lost.
You hit on ONE thing that makes the turn signal switch sound like a co-culprit.For the sake of argument,check the fuse block,both underhood,and underdash.Look for any type of corrosion,and check for any open wiring.I understand that you ordered the new switch,but still check those fuse panels.A customer of mine brought me a a 99 Lexus LX450,that had MAJOR issues with electrical.It come to pass that there was some leakage around the windshield,corroded the fuse panel.Ordered a new one,did some exploratory on the wiring,and good-2-go.Something to look at,good luck.
