speedometer problem on an old camaro?
have a very annoying problem. i have a 1984 camaro z28, i put a 1969 302 motor in it and i just bolted up the transmission that was in the car when i bought it (a t-5 world class borg warner).
now my problem is my speedometer doesnt work. the speedo cable that comes down doesnt plug into my transmission. the port thats in my transmission is for some sort of electronic speedo plug. assuming this isnt the original transmission in this car... is there some sort of i kit i can buy? or will i have to possibly buy a new cluster. a mechanic at a ford dealer also told me a GPS system with a speedo in it will pass safety inspection (in nova scotia canada). its just a very frustrating problem that i cant seem to figure out!

any good Speedometer Shop could make you a cable and housing to do the job.
or at least supply you with the gear and sleeve you may need.
if you lived here in San Jose California; i am sure i could get it working in less than an hour.
