HOYT shooter needs help?

Hi all four to five years ago i purchased a Hoyt ultra Tec. A 60 to
70 pound model with an axle length of 37 and a half inches with a
string length of 58 inches (factory set). A bow which i love to shoot
and can shoot all day.I recently broke a string and sent it away to my
local Hoyt dealer to be repaired and when it returned i went to do a
bit of fine tuning and noticed that the limb bolts were screwed right
in and i could only get 65 pounds of peak draw weight and the axle to
axle length is now nearly 38 and a quarter inches.
When i phoned my local Hoyt dealer to ask about the problem he said
that they had put the right length of string on the bow but if the
string was too long like i thought,He said if the string was longer i
would actually get more peak draw weight from my bow is this
true??????

And if he has put the right length string on my bow then does anyone
have any idea as to why these changes have happened??????

I look forward to any help i can get

I assume you purchased the bow new seems how 4 to 5 years ago it would have been new to the market. That being said, the shop you took it to more than likely put the wrong string on it.

If the string is to long you will not get more draw weight as the limbs will never reach their most drawed point. The axle to axle on a Ultra Tec is 37 1/2" period.

I highly recommed that you contact Hoyt about this as they dont take kindly to reps doing work like this. I would also find a local shop to get a second opinion on the fact. I assure you that if the axle to axle has changed then the wrong string or a bad install has been done. You have an excellent bow, and your poundage can acually be pushed above what the specs are, once again showing the wrong string installed.

Good Luck & Happy Shooting !

BTW: Your ad of " Hoyt shooter needs help" is not true ! If you already made the choice to purchase a Hoyt over Mathews and the others then you need no help ! You own one of the best bows ever made and that stands for something ! =)
