what is the black stuff in my fish tank?
Hello, I have a 20g tank that has been set up for over a year. Not really had any problems with it, It has a fitler on the back that uses the cartrages I rinse them out weekly and change them about once ever 6 weeks. I noticed my tank getting cloudy and black stuff covering the rock and plants. What is it? I did a 10% wanter change, put in a new fliter, added water purifyer to remove the chlorine and cloudyness, but it is still cloudy and black still in the tank, any ideas????
It is probably algae, you need to clean it soon. Simply use a tank cleaning brush or sponge to wipe the algae from the areas, you may want to invest in an algae eating fish, check your water quality, and your light usage.
