What would cause hub assembly to produce loud rubbing/grinding sound less than 1 month after replacement?

I recently replaced both front hub assembly/wheel bearings on my 04' Pontiac Grand Prix due to marked vibration and loud rubbing/grinding sound. Car has approx 82,000 miles. Bought parts from local auto parts store and had a chain auto repair shop install the parts. Later replaced outer tie rod on left side (getting alignment tomorrow) and replaced tires at different location. Loud rubbing/grinding sound has now returned in force. Sound is identical to the sound that caused me to replace the wheel bearings in the first place. Is there anything that would cause these parts to go bad other than improper installation. Installation was done by mechanic and was paid in cash, so I have to assume that there is no guarantee that can be honored. Please advise.

90 percent sure, they ran the axle nut on with an impact and over-torqued it. The new bearing you paid for is junk and must be replaced. Take it back.
