how long do it take to put a new timng chain on my 1986 oldsmobile ninety-eight and when they change the chain
do they change the oil to. I had my car tow to the shop because it wouldnt start i drove it to the store and it was runing fine then came back to start it the car wouldnt come on. the shop said it have a bad timing chain they didtn say anything was wrong with it i hope thatz all is wrong with it.
they said they look at it and said it the timing chain was bad
It is about a 6 hour job total and they might want to change the water pump at the same time. If something else is wrong (distributor, valves etc.) this will only be found out later. Any work like this has to have an engine oil change. That is the least of your worries.
