How can I empty a disused copper water tank?
In our airing cupboard we have a large copper Hot Water tank that is no longer in use. It is two thirds full of water and the only outlet is right at the top. Any ideas?
get a bucket ready and a hammer and screwdriver, hammer the screwdriver through the side of the copper tank just below the water level, this will be quite easy as the copper is a soft metal, the water will now start flowing out catch it in your bucket and dispose of keep doing this lowering the hole in the tank each time a bit and before long you will have an empty copper tank with holes running down it till it is empty enough to drag into the garden.
