Which people on Lost are eligible time travelers?
Oceanic 815 survivors only? Or everyone who was on the island when the donkey wheel was turned by Linus? Neither case could be true. Faraday and his crew mates aren't Oceanic 815 survivors, neither is Juliet Burke and she is an Other. As for the other Others, why are they unaffected by the time shifting? Jack, Jumbo and Austen were automatically transported to the disco era as they returned to the island, joining their old companions. But John is a special case though. What if Brotheh Desmond follows them?
To move through time, you need to be someone who:
(1) was on the island (or in the water around the island) when Ben turned the wheel, AND
(2)you have to NOT be an original inhabitant of the island.
Richard and the others are original inhabitants of the island, so they don't move through time. It isn't only the people who were on Flight 815 because Juliet, Daniel, Miles, and Charlotte weren't on the flight, yet they still skipped through time. The reason Danielle and her crew didn't skip through time is because they weren't on the island when Ben turned the wheel (they were dead). When the island is in a past (or future) time the people who were "originally" on the island at the time the island is in don't move, they stay put.
