Why Tie Down Straps have a twisted loop?
I bought a piece of nylon webbing. It's to hang a hammock on a tree. The design confuses me - I know there's a reason behind its design. One end is a metal o-ring with an s hook attached. That part, I get. The other end is a twisted loop. Winch straps and tie downs have a similar design - what's with the twisted loop? Why not a regular loop? How do you use it to make things more secure? Thanks in advance, boy scouts and cowboys!
The twist prevents the loop from closing flat and makes it easier to get your hand into when wearing gloves.
