Fresh Water aquariums?

What kind of water do I use for a fresh water aquarium?
Distilled?
Tap?
City?
What do I use?

You use what you got....be it well, tap, bottled.
You make it usable through the appropriate treatment...dechlorinators mostly (won't go into any others,so no confusion).

Modern dechlorinators remove chlorine, neutralize chloramines, convert ammonia to ammonium, and bind /precipitate heavy metals. City and Tap are the same thing.

Distilled water is usually "too" pure...and has to have things added back (trace minerals, carbonate salts,etc.).It is good for topping off due to evaporation though.

Modern science has taken most of the guess work out of hobbyist water treatment....so your tap is fine.Just test the water to see what your pH is and whether you have higher ammonia/nitrates (would require a little more dechlorinator than on the label)....you'd do that with any water anyway.
Modern dechlorinators are virtually impossible to over dose.
